NVR: The evidence
A searchable bibliography of NVR research
LAST UPDATE: August 2025
THE NVR REFERENCE DATABASE PROJECT
NVR is an evidence-based, transdiagnostic practice, with measurable outcomes. An overview of NVR’s research findings, as of 2022, can be found in the introduction to the 2nd edition of Haim Omer’s “Non-Violent Resistance: A New Approach to Violent and Self-Destructive Children” (pages 29-39).
In 2021, CNTP initiated the NVR Reference Database project, an ongoing effort to cover the NVR literature and make it publicly accessible. The database currently includes several hundreds of references in several languages, including English, German, Dutch, and French.
A special thanks to Dr. Frank van Holen of Belgium, who curated the list's pre-database version until 2021, and to Martin Fellacher of Austria for his help with the German references.
